Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 8:09AM Kirk Schultz, President of Kansas State University toured ILS Farms and Ward Feed Yards on July 12th. Lee Borck invited the President to witness first-hand the cattle feeding industry and to gain a better understanding of the economic impact that feed yards and agriculture has in Kansas and at Kansas State University. Lee personally conducted the tour at both locations where he explained the magnitude of the cattle feeding business starting with the production of fall grains to the shipping of the finished animal. At the end of the tour the President briefly met with K-State alumni employees working at ILS. Before leaving the President commented, “I knew that cattle feeding is a major economic influence in Kansas, but I had no idea of the complexity of the business.”
